PLASMA-ZARM/AZ is a secure automated workstation manufactured by NVP «Plasmotekhnika» with active protection of information against leakage via technical channels. Unlike passive solutions, the complex not only limits the level of informative emanations but also actively counters interception — it generates masking interference that prevents technical intelligence tools from intercepting compromising electromagnetic emanations and induced signals. The product holds a State Service of Special Communications expert conclusion (No. [TBC]) and is intended for processing restricted information.
Purpose and application scenarios
PLASMA-ZARM/AZ is intended for processing restricted information in government bodies, enterprises and medium and large business organisations — primarily where purely passive protection measures are insufficient or their use is impractical.
Protection of information against leakage via technical channels is provided in a system where it processes information constituting a state secret, or where the corresponding decision on the need for such protection has been taken by the information owner. This rule is mandatory both for state enterprises and institutions and for all bodies under non-state ownership.

PLASMA-ZARM/AZ protects information against leakage via technical channels using the active protection method, which is the most economical way to solve the problem.
Typical scenarios where active protection is a justified choice:
- the site cannot provide a controlled zone of sufficient radius — leased premises, shared-use buildings, dense urban development;
- the placement conditions of the workstation change, and re-equipping the premises with passive means (shielding, structural modifications) every time is unjustifiably expensive;
- a fast solution is needed that creates protection directly at the point where information is processed, without large-scale construction work.

Product composition and modes of use
PLASMA-ZARM/AZ is a ready-made kit that includes:
- a computing device (workstation);
- an active-protection device against information leakage via technical channels;
- a set of peripheral equipment and software;
- if required — a radio-tight box for connecting flash drives.
The product operates in two modes: as a standalone device for processing restricted information or as a special information and telecommunications terminal connected to the customer’s computer network. The composition of the component equipment and software is determined on the basis of the customer’s requirements.
How active protection differs from passive
Passive protection reduces the level of informative signals to a safe one (shielding, filtering, structural solutions). Active protection works differently: a dedicated device generates masking interference that overrides the informative emanations — even if the signal can technically be received, it will not be possible to recover information from it. The active approach depends less on the characteristics of the premises and the controlled zone.

Integration and support
PLASMA-ZARM/AZ is an in-house development and a series-produced product of NVP «Plasmotekhnika», so supply, implementation and support are handled by a single contractor without a chain of intermediaries.
- Supply as part of a project or separately. The product is supplied as a standalone item or within a comprehensive TPI project: survey, design, implementation, certification.
- Instrumental control. After deployment, we perform instrumental control of protection effectiveness on site — this is especially important for active-protection solutions, whose effectiveness depends on the placement conditions.
- Compatibility with infrastructure. We agree the workstation configuration with the customer’s IT service so that the product fits into the existing environment without conflicts with corporate services.
- Combined solutions. For transferring data between networks of different security levels, the product is combined with the PLASMA DD one-way gateway.
- Service support. Technical support and servicing of the product are provided by the manufacturer.
